Plastering & rendering

Traditional plastering, skimming, dry lining and internal rendering.

Plastering & rendering

The everyday trade. Whole-house re-plasters, single-room skims, patching after a leak or a removed wall, stud partitions, dry lining, and internal rendering. It is what built this business and it is still most of what we do.

Re-plastering and skimming

Walls that have been papered over for thirty years, cracked after settlement, or blown behind old plaster. Stripped, repaired and skimmed flat.

Dry lining and stud work

New stud partitions, boarding out, and dry lining where a solid wall needs bringing up to a modern finish.

Making good

Blocked-up doorways, new openings, patching after a cupboard or a chimney breast has come out, repairs after a pipe leak. A lot of our repeat work is exactly this — small jobs done properly for people we've worked for before.

Internal rendering

Rendering to internal walls where a skim alone won't do the job.

How the job runs

  1. Quote

We come and look. Most quotes go out the same day.

  2. Protect and prep

Dust sheets, then strip, repair and prime whatever the wall needs before anything goes on it.

  3. Plaster

Float and set, or skim, depending on what the wall wants.

  4. Finish and clear up

Trowelled flat, edges cut in, room hoovered and left ready to decorate.

Questions we get asked

Will you do a single small job?

Yes. A patched ceiling after a leak is how a lot of our long-standing customers started with us.

How long before I can decorate?

Usually a few days, depending on the weather and how much plaster has gone on. We'll tell you on the day rather than guessing now.

Do you work for builders as well as homeowners?

Yes, though most of our work is domestic and direct with the homeowner.
